Frequently Asked Questions

What are some alternatives to Botox and injectables?

Gua sha is a natural alternative that lifts and tones the muscles while increasing circulation. The upward massaging motion improves elasticity and gives skin a subtle glow. Learn more about the benefits of Gua Sha in our recent blog.

Does microneedling require downtime?

After a treatment, you may experience slight redness and sun sensitivity for 24 hours. Within 48 hours, you can resume your usual skincare and outdoor activities/exercise. Book your Collagen Induction/Microneedling package today and start enjoying skin firming results!

Do you offer anti-aging facials?

We believe in aging healthfully versus attempting to reverse all aging. Our services increase skin health and reduce fine lines, sun spots and scarring. The wrinkles that remain are a part of your story and something we seek to celebrate versus wholly eliminate. Try our b theory Custom Facial to boost your skin’s overall health and radiance!.

How often should I be getting facials?

We get asked this all of the time. The short answer is every 4 to 6 weeks. That timing is based on the skin’s cellular turn-over of fresh cells every 28 plus days. That number increases with age, hence the 4 to 6 weeks. If that seems like too much, we recommend seeing our clients at a minimum of quarterly – refreshing the skin with the changing season. Ideally, we’d take this opportunity to update your daily skincare routine to meet the needs of your skin adjusting to those seasonal changes.

How often should I be getting a Gua Sha facial?

If you want to see the beautiful results Gua Sha can offer, then we need a commitment to more visits initially before we settle into the 4-to-6 week schedule. We recommend coming in for a professional treatment either weekly or every other week for five treatments then adjusting to facials on the monthly or every six week schedule. Keeping up with some key Gua Sha techniques at home with your own tool is a cinch (and very relaxing at the end of a long day) with our online tutorial. We recommend working with your Gua Sha tool at home at least 3 days a week to keep your skin hydrated, toned and vibrant. Our Gua Sha Botanical Infusion Facial is the perfect introduction to the sculpting and toning benefits of this ancient skincare practice.

What ingredients help brighten melasma and dark spots/pigmentation?

There are a lot of products available to help lighten dark spots and reduce areas of pigmentation caused by conditions such as melasma. Our first go to is a potent Vitamin C serum used daily. Vitamin C brightens, tightens and tones the skin. We carry Glow C+ Serum by Green Envee. It is a brightening powerhouse with 20% active Vitamin C and Ferulic acid, a potent antioxidant which boosts the benefits of Vitamin C as it also helps to lighten pigmentation.

Glycolic acid is another of our favorite ingredients for helping with pigmentation, especially melasma. Kick start the brightening process with a Botanical Peel Facial, then treat at home weekly with a potent glycolic mask. We highly recommend the Pumpkin Glycolic Peel 3% masque from Green Envee for weekly home use. This masque also reduces the appearance of fine lines as it stimulates cell renewal.
