How to use a lymphatic facial brush for optimal skin health

Lymphatic facial and body brushing is a simple, affordable technique that strengthens our inner health (immune system) to help us achieve big results towards improving our skin’s outer health and appearance.  Adding this to your natural aging self-care routine benefits your skin’s health in the following ways:

  • Improves circulation to the skin, boosting nutrient absorption, reducing inflammation, speeding the healing process

  • Helps clear cellular waste from the tissue

  • Stimulates the immune system

  • Reduces redness, puffiness, dark circles, fine lines and wrinkles

  • Brightens the skin

  • Reduces blackheads, helps to clear acne

  • Eases the symptoms of eczema and psoriasis (brush around these areas, not directly over)

  • Clears sinus congestion

  • Calms and soothes our minds - helps us relax by stimulating our parasympathetic nervous system

Start with clean hands. Perform lymphatic facial brushing after cleansing on dry skin, using a clean dry lymphatic facial brush. Always do lymphatic brushing after applying heat to the skin (showering), to ensure optimal movement of the lymphatic fluid. Use light gentle strokes with a pull/stretch to the skin (no pressure) along the lymphatic pathways. This routine takes less than 15 minutes to do your face and neck, and may be done daily if desired, or 3-5 times a week to achieve the best results.  Follow up this treatment by applying toner, serums, moisturizer and SPF (if you are using your lymphatic facial brush in the morning to start your day).

Be sure to clean your brush by washing the bristles in a gentle Castile soap after use, spray with alcohol and air dry.

  • Raised moles - work around

  • Hyperthyroid - do not work directly over the thyroid gland
