Refresh your spring skincare with a simple routine
As the days grow longer, warmer and sunnier, it’s time to make changes to your skincare routine and some of the skincare products that you use to ensure optimal health for your skin. Here are our favorite spring skincare tips:
Vitamin C serums provide excellent antioxidant protection for healthy, radiant skin.
Increase antioxidants in your skincare routine. If you aren’t already using a vitamin C serum, this is the perfect time to add one to your routine. We love Glow C+ Brightening Serum from Green Envee. It helps to lighten pigmentation, keep the skin firm, and protect the skin from pollution and sun damage.
Switch to a lighter-weight moisturizer. Protect Antioxidant Moisturizer from Green Envee is our warmer weather go-to for optimal moisturization - plus, you get even more antioxidant protection for your skin!
Sip green tea every day. Did we mention the need for antioxidants? Green tea is a powerhouse of antioxidants and nutrients to support the health of your skin. Treat yourself to a delicious iced matcha latte with oatmilk on a toasty afternoon and your skin will thank you!
Keep facial mist in your bag for a midday refresher and hydrator. As the weather warms into the higher 70s and 80s, a quick mist of Suntegrity’s Trifecta Power Mist is perfect after sun exposure. It cools your skin and starts to repair your skin immediately after application. Plus, a quick mist can take care of your skin in place of a post-workout cleanse, helping to keep your skin looking dewy fresh.
If skin gets oilier in the warmer months, add a gel cleanser to your routine. The newly reformulated Clarify Cleanser from Green Envee has quickly become a client favorite for deeper cleansing without stripping the skin of its natural oil. If you are a double-cleanser, first cleanse with Purify Botanical Cleansing Oil from Green Envee to remove the day, then follow with Clarify Cleanser.
Exfoliate gently and regularly. Outdoor pollens and pollutants can clog pores leading to breakouts and inflammation. Follow your esthetician’s recommendations for how often to exfoliate and which product(s) to use. Check out our blog on exfoliation specifics.
Incorporate a more advanced exfoliating treatment such as a botanical peel or dermplaning into your regular facial schedule. Ask your esthetician for their recommendation for your skin’s unique needs.
Elevate sun protection. Apply SPF 30 every morning, and reapply every two hours when you are outside. Wear a wide-brimmed hat and SPF clothing for optimal sun protection. If you get sunburned, remember that aloe vera is your skin’s best friend.
Our clients love the Mineral Sun Drops from Suntegrity - safe and clean SPF protection without the white cast.
Spring is a great time to clean your makeup brushes, clean out your makeup bag and skincare product cabinet. Check expiration dates and declutter outdated skincare products and makeup. Keep it fresh, healthy and gorgeous!
Be sure to clean your makeup brushes often to keep skin blemish-free.
