The Ultimate Guide to Looking Your Best For Any Big Event

Getting ready for a big event - wedding, reunion, photoshoot, career change or professional presentation? Looking to make some big, lasting changes to your skin’s appearance and health? Ready to commit to a self-care practice to help you destress, renew and rejuvenate?  We’ve got you covered with our new Annual Skincare Package! Treat your skin, your nervous system and wellbeing to a year of regular 90-minute facial treatments, results-driven skincare products and all-out b Theory bliss!

Making changes to the appearance and health of your skin takes time - plan on these changes taking at least six months to a year for improving the signs of:

  • sun damage (including fine lines, wrinkles, pigmentation & dryness)

  • redness & inflammation

  • hormonal changes (including breakouts, pigmentation, dryness, fine lines & wrinkles)

  • rough texture & crepey skin

  • loss of firmness, bounce & vitality

While regular facial treatments are foundational for making improvement to your skin, having a consistent home-care routine, nutritious diet and committed self-care practices for managing stress are all key and essential for making big, visible and lasting changes to the health and appearance of your skin.  Ready to get started?!

6 - 12 months before the big event:

  • Schedule your professional treatments.  Purchase your Annual Skincare Package which includes six 90-minute facial treatments booked out regularly every eight weeks over a year and take home three full-size Green Envee skincare products (cleanser, toner and moisturizer) at your first visit to get you started on an at-home skincare routine with impact.

  • Uplevel and fine-tune your at-home skincare routine with a treatment plan from your esthetician that will include important product and usage recommendations.

  • Increase your antioxidant intake to reduce inflammation in your body and skin.

  • Start working with a lymphatic facial brush 3-4 times a week at home to prolong and boost the results of your regular facials and skincare routine.  We carry The Lymphatic Brush by Cecily Braden

Consistency at home is absolutely key for making big changes to your skin. Get the most from your homecare routine with the following general recommendations (remember, we are here to help tailor a skincare routine for your skin’s unique needs):

  • CLEANSE:  For most skin types, cleansing once a day in the evening is perfect.  Be sure to do a double cleanse - the first cleanse removes SPF, makeup, sweat and dirt, preparing the skin for the second cleanse which cleans the skin more deeply.  In the morning, give your skin a gentle rinse with warm water and pat dry.

  • EXFOLIATE:  Gently exfoliate your skin twice a week to support cellular turnover and help achieve a brighter and more radiant complexion.  Plus, this prepares the skin to absorb your other essential treatment products more effectively.

  • TONE:  Reset the pH level of your skin after cleansing and exfoliating with a hydrating, brightening and inflammation-reducing toner.  Mist toner onto a cotton round or directly onto your skin after cleansing at night and rinsing your skin in the morning.

  • SERUM TREATMENT:  While the toner is still damp on your skin, apply hyaluronic serum to boost the hydration in the skin and plump it up.  Follow your hyaluronic serum with vitamin C serum in the morning every day to brighten, firm and protect your skin from the harmful effects of pollution and UV rays.

  • EYE TREATMENT:  Apply a hydrating eye cream around your eyes (yes below and up to your brow) both morning and evening to reduce puffiness and dark circles.

  • MOISTURIZE:  Apply moisturizer both morning and evening and always, always, always apply SPF30 during the day.

  • LIPS:  Don’t forget to hydrate and moisturize your lips!

    • b Theory-crafted Plumping and Soothing Lip Balm gives your lips a big boost of hydration and fullness.

One month before your big event:

  • Focus on getting regular, good sleep, at least 6-8 hours per night.

  • Reduce sugar and alcohol consumption to further reduce inflammation in the body and skin.

  • Take a daily walk to promote lymphatic movement in your body, reduce stress and inflammation.

  • Keep up with your at-home skincare routine.

  • Treat your skin to a weekly hydrating at-home spa night with a 20 minute - two hour long mask application.  We love Firm Collagen Gel Masque from Green Envee.

One week before your big event:

  • This will be your final Annual Skincare Package facial treatment.  If you are planning to apply makeup for your event, this facial may include light dermaplaning for smooth, fuzz-free skin, with maximized hydrating and inflammation-reducing mask application and LED light treatment.

  • Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate your body and skin!  Especially if pre-event celebrations are happening ;)

Big event eve:

The big event day:

  • Book a 90-minute custom facial to sculpt, tone, de-puff and lift your skin along with boosting hydration and glow. If getting a facial the day-of isn’t possible, plan for the day prior to the big event to take your skin’s appearance to its radiant and glorious best.

  • Breathe and be present to all that you are about to experience.  You are beautiful, bold and brilliant, and ready for all of the goodness coming your way!

If you have a big event coming up in your life or are simply ready to make changes to a particular skin concern or condition, now is the time to start working towards your skincare goal.  When you make this type of commitment to improving the health and appearance of your skin, you will be prepped for your big event and beyond.
